Ariadni Harper is a St.Catharines artist with a Diploma in Advertising Art and Design from Fanshawe College in London, Ontario (1989-1992). She holds a Technological Studies Certificate in Special Art from H.B.Beal Secondary School (1987-1989).
Born in the Mediterranean island of Cyprus, she enjoyed creating from a very young age.
Since then Ariadni has become a mother of two beautiful and creative little girls. Inspired by her children’s creativity, Ariadni created a series of art classes for children out of her home studio. ‘Art with Ari’ – Art Studio for Kids (January 2013-2015), while teaching watercolour classes at a Retirement Residence. These 1-2 hour workshops include a brief history of an artist, movement and artistic medium gauged appropriately to the age and ability of the children, ages 5-13. Ariadni’s natural enthusiasm for her art along with her friendly and fun loving personality ensure the children are getting the most out of their time in her studio. Each child returned home with custom art pieces and a portfolio to further explore other studio workshops.
She has been involved in a variety of shows including this years Voix de Ville-Extravagonzo, STRUTT wearable art show, Small Feats, and Priceless Auction. She has displayed work at the Band Gallery (Toronto) HOME Exhibit through Centennial College and has had 3 Solo Shows at Redline Cafe (2015 Toronto), Niagara Artists Centre (2016 St.Catharines) and The Post Office/Shannon Passero (2017 Thorold).
Currently working as a Grade 6 - 8 Visual Art and Design Technology Teacher at Ridley College. She has also taught Kindergarten thru Grade 6, Art Technician and Science Technician, she enjoys the creativity she is exposed to daily while continuing to paint her own work and takes commissions regularly.
